Maximilian Böther (born 1998 in Hildesheim) is a Ph.D. student at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He is part of the Systems Group and the Efficient Architectures and Systems Lab (EASL), supervised by Ana Klimovic and Gustavo Alonso. His research interests include data-centric machine learning, as well as machine learning pipelines and systems. He has published several papers at renowned venues (e.g., SIGMOD, VLDB, ICLR), received a Best Paper Award at GECCO’21, and a Best Poster Award at ISMB/ECCB’21. He has interned at Google, experience working as a system administrator, software engineer, interned as Entrepreneur in Residence at a SaaS startup, and spent four years as member of the federal board of the Junge Liberale (“Young Liberals”) in Germany.
